FINAL COMPILATION
TABLE OF CONTENTS
LECTURES
WEEK 1
On this week, Mr. Sylvain introduced the module outline for UX Design Courses. There were individual and group project for the outcomes. He showed us example from previous student works which is about commuting experiences to go to Taylors University.
Fig 1.1 Lectures Documentation Week 01 25/09/2025
After that, we were instructed to form a group consist of 3-5 people. I was grouped with Jessie and Wee Lun. We proposed a topic and discussed it together to get a final chosen from Mr. Sylvain.

WEEK 2
This time we were explained about the Good vs Bad UX Design. Mr Sylvain showed us the example, scenario and later he gave us an exercises about Design Audit Report.
Fig 1.2 Lectures Documentation Week 02 02/10/2025
The Good Characteristic of UX Design consist of :
  • Usable : The design, structure, and motive of the product are clear to the user
  • Equitable : Delivers a high-quality user experience to all its users regardless of their age, gender identity, race or ability
  • Enjoyable : Make the user happy
  • Useful : Solve a User Problem
Good Design is actually a lot harder to notice rather than poor design. Design, good and bad, is prevalent all around us. One might think that good design is based on a personal preference. However, most “poor” designs are often called so because they don’t reflect the user’s needs.

WEEK 3
This week, we learned about user interview. At the end we were instructed to creating the project plan document to test our understanding. Research Methods consist of 4 different things which are Qualitative, Behavioral, Attitudinal and Quantitative. And then, before we finalize the interview question, its better if we tested it with another people and see how the flow works.
Fig 1.3 Lectures Documentation Week 03 09/10/2025
For the task on this week, each group need to conduct interview with total of 5 people with maximum time is 20 minutes.

WEEK 4
No class on this week since the lecturer were down on flu.

WEEK 5
This time Mr. Sylvain explained about affinity mapping. Affinity Mapping is a research method designed to reveal themes and insights from large sets of qualitative data.

What we need to do with the data?
  • Even it out : Scatter the sources on the same level, chunks of one info each if possible.
  • Spread it : Give space to each bit, use surface and horizontal layout to see the big picture.
  • Find Patterns : See what data can link with each other and how they are similar or underlying needs.
  • Find Outliers : Find the data points that don't match any other too.
After we finished the lectures, we have a group activity to do the affinity mapping sample and how might we exercises. First exercises we need to sort card based on the category and give it the name while the second one we need to think about HMW sentences of the scenario.

The activity can be seen here (Available in our Figjam).
Fig 1.5 Class Activity Week 05 23/10/2025

WEEK 6
Mr. Sylvain explained about Stakeholder map and User Persona. Stakeholder map were divided into 2 categories which are inside and outside. We were given a scenario and our task is to determine the inside and outside, along with primary, secondary and tertiary stakeholders.

The second activity is about user persona, we need to at least come up with 2 personas along with the scenario. This is the result for week 6 activity.
Fig 1.6 Class Activity Week 06 30/10/2025
As for our project, we need to decide which one we would be like in Jaya Grocer / Service provider side or in Customer sides.

Meanwhile, Personas are tools to create empathy.  Later then, he reviewed some of our works from last week and explaining how to do the affinity mapping.

WEEK 7
This time we were explained about user journey map. User journey map is a visual framework that helps you understand and visualize a user's experience with a product or service from their perspective.
Fig 1.7 Class Documentation Week 07 06/11/2025
We ended up the lecture session with class activities to do the user journey map for the persona we did yesterday. This is our activity result. We then presented it in front of class.

Fig 1.11 Class Documentation Week 10 27/11/2025

WEEK 11
This week lecturer is about Monetization and Gamification. Monetization is the process of converting something into money and it can be applied through ui/ux principle by user interaction (ads, subscription, pay per use, freemium), active purchase (affiliate, sales, etc) and intelectual property.

Meanwhile Gamification is the strategic integration of game-like mechanics and principles into non-game contexts, such as mobile apps and websites, to drive user engagement and solve complex UX problems.

Work Progress
The first thing we need to do is to find the topic and it can be anything related in our life. I choose the Batam Government website as my case study because it related to my home country as I'm Batam people.

Through the website exploration, I created 1 scenario where the user trying to read an article / news from it. Then I making out the user journey map that have 5 phases. I include the image on the next slide.
Fig 3.1 User Journey Map Progress Week 03 08/10/2025
After that I started to analyze the good and the bad ux element from the user journey. There were quite many disadvantage side rather than the good side which we can conclude the website still need to enhance their experiences by improving some aspects.

Week 01 - Module Briefing & Group Arrangements
For the first week, Mr Sylvain explained the project briefing including the project arrangement timeline. He also showed on example from past student works so we know what we are going to make for the group project.

I was grouped with 2 members for the group project. Below are the members name :
  • Guan Wee Lun (0364012)
  • Jessie Eileen (0367269)
  • Tracy Angeline Tio (0362222) - Me
We first browse a topic for UX Design problem and come up with 3 different topic. Wee Lun proposed a Koppiku app topic while Jessie proposed Smart Grocery and Food Finder app. As for me, I just help Jessie a little to search on the topic since I have done many type of this project before which make me hard to find a new idea. I'm really grateful for my team members contribution by proposing a nice ideas.

Below are the topic we have come from. I helped to organize the figjam board to make it clean.
Fig 4.1 Topic List Week 01 25/09/2025
After consulting with Mr Sylvain, we select the Topic 1 : Smart Grocery List because he find the topic was interesting. We agree to continue this topic and dive into a deep research for this topic. Wee Lun did a research on Lotus App Journey that have unique features and I research about Jaya Grocer Trolley as references.

For my teammates, Jessie was tasked to do the UI toolkit meanwhike Weelun start to work on the flow chart once I have done list down all the features.

Week 11 - Progression for Low Fidelity
This week I kept an eye of what's everyone doing right now since I don't have much things to do by this week. Weelun started to do the wireframe and low fidelity on this week and after we receive feedback from Mr. Sylvain to create the illustration scenario for In Store, I worked by write down the scenes and Jessie was responsible to do the sketching.

I work with the information architecture for Jaya go as well to help me understand the flow better and know what to do during high fidelity later.
Fig 4.21 Site Map and Scenario Week 11 04/12/2025

Week 12 - Working on High Fidelity Prototype
This week is a public holiday but I continue finish up the works. By this week, the low fidelity by weelun is almost done so I can start to create the high fidelity. I noticed that there still some page lacking design so I modified it during high fidelity.

First things I started to create is splash screen and log in screen.
Fig 4.22 Splash and Log In Week 12 11/12/2025
And then continue with the rest page. I do spent a lot of time think if the button was necessary or not. Other than that, I need to make sure all flow clear and user have button to go back. At the end of this week, I manage to finish with the online shop flow and Recipe Suggestion.

Week 13 - Final Presentation
This week, where we are supposed to have final presentation is near, I continue finished up what's left and divided task among the 2 members. I assigned them to do the final presentation slides.

What's left for the prototype is the main flow which is in store shop. I felt like doing this flow is the hardest one since there were pretty much possibilities could happen during in store shop. When doing it, I also asked opinion from others to see what are they thoughts and what could be improved.
Fig 4.25 In Store + Shop History Flow Week 13 15/12/2025
Once all pages is completed, I started to do the prototyping and write the flow description in figma.
Fig 4.26 Prototyping Week 13 16/12/2025
After prototype is finished, I helped my teammates to work on the slides and check to ensure the presentation flow later on is clear and smooth.
Fig 4.27 Documentation a Night Before Presentation Week 13 16/12/2025
Then, In presentation day, we present what do we have and overall we received positive feedback from lecturer and also the panel side. They also provide some suggestion that we could improve for the prototype and think for more possibilities during in store.

Week 14 - Finishing for Final Slides + Refinement
This time we don't have class and we got a time to finalize everything before submission on 4th january. Since I was busy with other task, there were not much change make for the prototype. Only for in store part, I change the exit from staff confirmation to just scan QR for more efficient way.
Fig 4.28 Refinement for In Store Exit Week 14 03/01/2026
And then I and some of my teammates do move our content from previous slides into the final presentation slides. I wrote down some possibilities in our ppt slides. With that, the project is done and ready for submission.

REFLECTIONS
Working on UX Design through 15 weeks in group is a valuable experiences I receive. Altough I have been do much things like user research before, researching on JayaGo hits different and there were many factors need to considered on.

Starting from journey to try on smart trolley until implement it in the prototype, I do like the overall things we worked and satisfied with the result. We successfully solving the problem by introducing pickup, delivery, recipe and smart navigation like smart trolley features inside Jaya go app.

Besides the advantages, there are still limitation happened and a few things that could be improved especially the recipe suggestion and in store possibilities, which make me realize this project is far from simple. We need to think what could happen, what if since there's always things that could be improved on the second hand.

To conclude, I want to thank Mr. Sylvain with his guidance and feedback every week that help us grow better to develop this project. Moreover, I want to thank my teammates through 15 weeks working together, there were much efforts we put on for this task!
