FINAL PROJECT : Stop Motion
WEEK 12 - WORKING ON PROPOSAL
Before week 13, where we want to start preparing the puppets and background, we divided each part to which one who should bring it. Most items are on Jessie so I just bring the tools like paper, scissors and tape that I bought also on Mr. DIY.
On class, we started to do the puppet and sofa first. Below are some behind the scene.
After few hours passed, we finished the puppet and the sofa. (Puppet eyes are gonna revised later since it looks starry :'). Since we are out of time also, we decided to divide our task before meeting up for shooting on next week. Jessie were tasked to clear all the equipment using clay and box while I was tasked to clear the table and background using cardboard.
Before week 14 happens, I started to do my part by making the background and the table. I do the background first by cutting the cardboard to three part.
Jessie also tried to completed the puppet accessories, box for trash and home decoration.
After that, we assembled our separate part together then prepared our tripod, phone and lighting provided in the studio and setup it by our own.
Many hours were passed to do the shooting and we finished it before evening. There were around 300+ photos taken when we shoot the motion. We moved the photo to google drive and separated for each scene to compiled all the materials for editing.
After Jessie send out the video in Drive, I began to export and edit it. I do edit the first scene which is the opening fade text and last scene where the messages appear.
Next, I exported all the clip to the Premiere pro and I also imported all the MP3 I downloaded previously and arrange it based on the scene.
I adjusted the ambience sound first by increase the level since the MP3 Video had small volume. After that, I synchronized all the sound and making sure the volume is better. At last, I export the video and uploaded it into Youtube.

WEEK 1 - INTRODUCTION
We were tasked to watched and listed out 3 short stop motion video. After that we need to state a reason why we chose that stop motion (style, art direction, character design)
Vid 3.1 (1) Lego French Toast Stop Motion Cooking
This stop motion was built with so much creative ways. On the video, It shows how to create a French toast using Lego and real object things. The progress began from preparing the ingredients until it was served with cola. Since child until now, I still liked Lego so this video was related to my favorites also. The stop motion having a simple style and using a vibrant and chill color like in the kitchen. There were no characters on this video because it were do by the person itself.
Vid 3.2 (2) Coco - Paper Cut Out Animation
Coco was a lonely and loyal little dog who likes to play with the owner so much. On this stop motion, it shows how Coco was waiting all long day for the owner who went to study abroad day by day from spring to winter. Coco was sitting and sleeping all day waiting for her owners until the end the owners got back and petting Coco. This stop motion using paper material to create all the elements such as the characters. The art style are same from start to end. I liked this stop motion because they had a deep meaning and the dog is cute too.
Vid 3.3 (3) Under the Winter Sun Stop Motion
Under the Winter Sun is a stop motion that tells about a lonely snowman build himself a friend, but their friendship did not last longer. When the sun rises up, both of them melted and only one could survive by using the hat. The snowman friend gave the hat to the snowman to save him. This stop motion were using mixed media. The snowman were built using clay, the house were using wooden craft stick and more media are using paper. The style were 3d and they used good transition to make this video. I liked the way this video could bring us to emotionally and artistic vibes on it.
WEEK 9 - STOP MOTION TRIAL SHOOT
On week 9, we were given a group task as a practice before we moving to the final project. We were given 2 stop motion video from Mr. Martin and we need to re-create the elements using tools stated which is :
Equipment needed are DSLR camera and Smartphone (Install Stop Motion Apps).
I and my group started do discuss our role and here is the final role :

Mr. Martin also introduces us to the final projects where we had to create our own stop motions by individual or group. The proposal were also given on this week and the first things we had to do is to find the theme we want to pursue. (Proposal Template : Here)WEEK 12 - WORKING ON PROPOSAL
I decided to work on group with Jessie on this project. This week, we started to find an idea for the stop motion projects. Based on Mr. Martin explanation, the video should gave some messages on it, so I tend to go with nowadays problem specially for teen in age 18-25. I come up with 3 ideas that could be seen on picture below.
The next day, we worked on the plot of the story which is the synopsis part. I break into three part first, listed the equipment and created some rough sketch for the storyboard while Jessie was tasked to find the music references for sound effect, etc and fill out the visual references.
On feedback session in class, Mr. Martin suggest us to create some time lapse and made the ending of the video is interesting by showing the character changed the habit for example, do exercises.
We do a revision based on the feedback after then. View our brainstorming progress on this file :

At the end of class, we discussed for the materials needed and tried to found it.  Since I was busy doing my other task, Jessie starts to find an item in Mr. DIY. The items that Jessie found are clay, stick, and cardboard. We only bought 1-2 clay color for the characters since Jessie already have other color from previous.

WEEK 15 - EDITTING
On this week, I compiled the photo materials uploaded by Jessie by dividing on each photo by the scene based on the storyboard since we are gonna need it for raw material submission.
Mr. Martin said that the overall video looks fine so we are gonna use the video for editing to the next step but we do want to revised a little part by adjusting the brigthness and add effects in capcut to know if the plot is happened in afternoon or night. We dividing the task for editing part again where Jessie gonna revised the video clip and I'm gonna do the finishing touch by adding sound and effect for the video.
Here are the revised part that Jessie do in capcut.

FEEDBACK
Week 12
Our storyboard are too boring and it is okay if it's on solo work but since we were work on pairs, we had to improving the storyboard by developing some time lapse and good ending, for example the characters do something to go back to normal.
Week 14
The overall shoot is okay, but it need to touch up in around 30 sec where the camera switched to right and move back.
REFLECTIONS
Working on stop motion projects on group and pairs were such a good experience for me. As from beginning, I did not had any plan to work on solo even I do like working on task in alone. For me, stop motion is gonna be difficult and did not fun if it only one person because we had to create all the items by your own and move then shoot by our own so there were no people helping. When working on pairs, I observed that we could see our strengths and weakness together combined into one. Moreover, stop motion need a lot of observation especially when it comes to the shoot part. We had to made sure the camera did not move and the background did not move too much. But at last, I realized that working on stop motion is about patience. Stop motion had a long progress starting from ideating, working on materials and the shooting time, we also need to move the puppets little by little and luckily it was worth to watch at the end.
